Olney Scout Troops
We have two Scout Troop within the Olney Scout Group. The leadership team is Ann, Heather and more recently Connie. We currently have 29 youth members, meeting on a regular basis. As with other sections we offer a well balanced programme.
The scouts have been doing various activities within the group and also at District Level. Read more about the events here
New Scout uniform
If you wish to get new uniform such as shirts, trousers and belts then there is a shop at the Quarries (Cosgrove). You can get directions by going on our links page and following the shortcuts. If you wish to get a new scarf or neckerchief contact your group leader to purchase. If you think you have achieved a badge please contact your group leader with confirmation of what you have done to get this badge, signed by a responsible adult.
Olney Scout Group Centenary
In 1907 Robert Baden-Powell OM founded a small group of scouts. So this year scouts celebrate 100 years of scouting. 1st Olney scout group are doing their bit to join in with this achievement by holding camps and many other activities.
Scouts have been taking part in a activity called the “100 challenge” It is called this because all the activities take up a total of 100 minutes (1hour 40mins). So far the scouts have taken part in the Creative, Fitness, Local, History and Peace challenges. There is still the Brownsea Island challenge left that the scouts have to do. We all hope all our patrols get through to the next round with the top 100 teams from all over the country going forward into the next part.
On the centenary camp all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are invited to take part in activities such as African drumming, quad biking, climbing, laser shooting, face painting, kite making, shooting and archery. Also there is an army assault course and bouncy castle (for young and old!). The camp takes place in Aylesbury on the 25th to the 28th of May
